Netflix is taking its streaming business to the next level with a new streaming service, dubbed Fireball.
The company is also rolling out a new movie theater app for Android and Apple devices, the Fireball TV.
The app will be available in select theaters starting Thursday.
Fireball is the third major movie streaming service launched in the past month and is the first to offer exclusive content, such as new episodes of Orange is the New Black and the new Ghostbusters movie.
The Fireball app also features a “movie-by-movie viewer,” which allows users to view movie titles, episodes, cast and crew members and more.
Netflix said it will offer “a lot of different content” for the Fireballs service, but would not offer specific movies.
The new app will not be available until next month, the company said.
Netflix is a huge movie distributor.
Its chief executive, Reed Hastings, was once a senior executive at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The streaming service has been criticized for failing to compete with big-name studios like Disney and Warner Bros. Netflix has also been accused of favoring the movies of Hollywood blockbusters, including the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The service also does not offer much in the way of local content.
Netflix, which is owned by Walt Disney Co., has also struggled to attract subscribers in recent months, even though it has enjoyed strong popularity.
The average price of a streaming movie ticket in the U.S. dropped to $9.99 from $19.99 in September, according to comScore.
Netflix also announced a slate of new original content in January, including a comedy about a college basketball player who gets caught cheating and the upcoming debut of a new Netflix original series, The Punisher.
